Creed II - How Will Rocky Accept the Fight Between Son Creed and Son Drago
Ok, so there will be a Creed II movie! Jumping joy for the fans of this incredibly produced movie by the great Ryan Coogler. So much hype over this movie as Creed is set to fight Drago's son, yes, Drago, the one who killed father Creed in Rock IV. As Rocky regrets not stopping the fight between father Creed and father Drago, the Creed II trailer insinuates that Rocky does not want son Creed to fight son Drago as he in this movie has nothing to lose and is a monster just like his dad was.
If you're a huge fan of the Rocky franchise like I am, then you can account for just about every detail from every Rocky movie ever released. If you can remember, In Rocky IV, in round 2, as Creed was getting pounded with heavy strong blows from Drago, Creed's supporters all yelled to Rocky to throw in the towel as they could see that Creed couldn't fight back. It was a one- sided affair, but Rocky refused to throw in the towel in order to protect the ego and pride of his friend Creed, who yells at Rocky to not throw in the towel. It was a tough decision for Rocky but he listened to Creed. More pounding continues onto the pretty boy face of Creed until he could not stand another blow and he goes down like a sack of potatoes. He stays down, Drago wins and Creed's supporters rush to his aid, concerned. Creed is lifeless, Creed dies in the ring. Rocky has a strong guilt written all over his face.
As Rocky once lived in the moment of Drago's murder of Creed, he looks in the eyes of Creed's son -who desperately wants to fight son Drago for a significant reason [unrevealed] - he knows that fighting son Drago would be a huge mistake for son Creed. As father Creed's trainer, Rocky understands the dangers of the power behind a Drago and it's his responsibility to protect his fighter. But just like a Creed, they are ego driven and it's impossible to stop them once they've made of their mind that they want to do something. And in this clip, son Creed is really adamant about fighting son Drago and hits Rocky with the toughest statement for a trainer to have to deal with from his fighter, "You don't think I can beat him". Rocky says nothing. Common sense tells you that son Creed will fight son Drago, but emotionally speaking, how will Rocky accept the fight and what measures will he have to go through in order train son Creed knowing that he will fight the son of the man who killed one of his good friends in the ring. A man that responds to a brutal knock down of his opponent with, "If he dies, he dies"? This will be interesting and I cannot wait until Thanksgiving of 2018.
The director of both Creed I and Creed II is the same director of Fruitvale Station and The Black Panther!
